Currently, the United States population is experiencing a health emergency where about 90% of health care spending goes to treating people who have chronic diseases and obesity.
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations and the World Health Organization (WHO), in a joint statement, emphasized the formulated principles of what constitutes healthy diets, underpinned by guidelines and other normative elements developed by the two Organizations.
